Greetings!
I’m Skylar, and this is Scaling Fitness.
I want to start by telling you, dear reader, that Scaling Fitness is NOT about spending every day in the gym, eating less and working out more.
This isn’t THAT kind of fitness blog.
No, Scaling Fitness is about, primarily, a nerd who likes to research anything that interests him. Obsessively. And in this particular instance, my health was what captured my interest.
And it was LONG overdue.
Secondly, and most importantly, Scaling Fitness is about becoming and STAYING Healthy.
For years, (my entire adult life up until a year ago in fact), I believed that “health” was about getting lots of exercise, eating lots of vegetables and chicken breasts, and counting calories with extreme discipline.
I spent hours plugging everything I ate into MyFitnessPal, denying myself nearly everything that tasted good, eating 5-6 times a day to keep hunger constantly at bay, and having pretty damn good success! (I lost 80 pounds in about 3-4 years!)
But I was regularly falling off the wagon, endulging in “cheat days” that turned into cheat weekends, or cheat months. Stopped getting on the scale for weeks at a time because I knew I didn’t want to see the ground I had lost.
Then starting the cycle again, building discipline, “eating right” (salads and chicken breasts, *sigh*).
Planning meals for the week. Cooking and packing lunches and snacks so I could eat every 2 hours, all day, every day.
It was tedious.
It was exhausting.
It worked.
But it SUCKED!
Fast forward to today…
I wake up in the morning, make myself coffee blended with butter and coconut oil, and a dash of salt.
And that’s it until dinner.
For dinner, a typical meal consists of a pound and a half of ribeye steak (or the fattiest, most flavorful meat of my choice), cooked in butter and olive oil. (Then maybe even covered in butter for good measure when I actually eat!)
For a side, I’ll cook up some green beans or brussels sprouts in a pan with bacon pieces, olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic.
And I’ll eat until I’m FULL.
Not “a reasonable portion”. Not “X amount of calories”. I eat until my body yells at me to STOP.
And I’m far and away in the absolute best health of my life.
I spend maybe 40-60 minutes a WEEK doing moderate exercise. And that’s really just to look better naked. You know you want that too 😉
If what I’m doing sounds EXTREME, believe me, I understand. And I didn’t go straight here from there. Neither will you. It’s a process, and it’s ENJOYABLE, unlike calorie counting!
And I’m going to show you everything I did, and everything I’m doing. Every step of the way. And you can decide if I’m crazy, or wrong, or about to die. (My cholesterol is 297! *GASP*!)
And I don’t have anything to sell you. You don’t need any special tricks or powders or energy bars.
You need FAT. HEALTHY FAT.
No, “healthy fat” is not an oxymoron. I’m a giant nerd. I’ll share with you what I’ve learned.
It will blow your mind like it did mine.
And it will CHANGE YOUR LIFE for the better.
Guaranteed.
